Released on Elliott Sharp's Zoar label, this scene defining Downtown NY compilation is a lovely thumbnail portrait of this vital musical community's post-No Wave mutations, as intersections with the improv community and the adoption of both pop and funk signifiers began altering this scene's chromosomes. Those present: V-Effect, The Scene Is Now, Crazy Hearts, Ism, Mofungo, The State, The Ordinaires and the Hi-Sheriffs Of Blue, a group featuring former Girls singer Mark Dagley in collaboration with Elliott Sharp.
