Hello my friends,
I am so excited to be joining 11 other fun gals for a
"Tea and Roses" blog hop and give away!
If you are hopping over from Stacey at Poofing the Pillows,
I know that you have been rewarded with her
wonderful hospitality!
wonderful hospitality!
Today I am sharing a "Garden Tea for You and for Me".
But, before I do, a big thanks to Amber from
Follow The Yellow Brick Home for putting this
hop together for us!
Early one morning into the garden I did creep,
in search of some roses and chamomile blossoms
that I could steep.
What, no roses anywhere to be seen?
But oh my, look at these snowballs, ever so glorious; even if some are still a bit green.
I see plenty of bushes with green leaves, buds, and thorns.
Alas, no rose bloomers today have been born!
But, oh my friends; don't be forlorn.
A garden tea it shall be.
Yes, a garden tea for you and for me!
The Lilac buds have opened up just for this occasion.
A mixture of two kinds. One is a typical Lilac, the other tipped in white, is called Sensation.
I've set the table with teacups and saucers for two.
One is a pretty pink, and the other is blue.
No roses blooming in the garden this May,
but look at the roses on that dainty teapot. They are ever so pretty
I must say!
I moved the table from the dappled shade into the sun. Oh my, was I ever having so much fun!
An old watering can becomes my chose for a vase.
That way, I never worry about breakage, just in case. . .
In case, the table tips just a bit.
You never know what might happen when one takes a sit. (wink)
No roses and no chamomile for steeping tea. . .
but look at this pretty pink herbal passion. It's lovely, don't you agree?
It's pretty and ever so sweet.
Really, a very special treat!
Now all we need is something to eat.
A piece of deliciously moist banana cake will do,
and
look; I have not one pretty teapot with roses, but two!
My bistro table and chairs have returned to their space.
Sitting just outside of Hilltop Cottage is their usual place.
Even though our tea must come to and end.
There's no place I'd rather be than in the garden with you
my friend!
(Every now and then the kid in me gets the urge to write a silly poem. Thanks for humoring me and allowing me to have
a bit of fun!)
The hop continues tomorrow and starts off with Laura from
She'll have plenty of eye candy for you for sure!
