Juicr WRLD 'Predicted' Death in Tribute Music to XXXTENTACION and Lil Peep

Promising rapper died at an airport after convulsions.

Juice Wrld was one of the most promising rappers in the game before his tragic death. His meteoric rise to fame was spurred by the 2017 release of "Lucid Dreams" and his first two albums, Goodbye & Good Riddance (2018) and Death Race for Love (2019). The tragic death comes just as Juice Wrld was becoming a certified star and a week before planning to release a new album. In an interview for the 2019 XXL Magazine cover story, Juice said he wanted to be a positive influence on the world. "I want to be more than just a millionaire," Juice told XXL. I want to change the world. I'm taking one step at a time, trying to do it my way.

Like many fans, Chicago rapper Juice WRLD was shocked by the murder of XXXTentacion and the death of Lil Peep. Shortly after X's death, Juice WRLD explained that the rapper was a great musical inspiration for him, and then decided to put his pain into music with the release of his new EP Too Soon…. The two-song project is intended to honor X and Lil Peep, who died of drug overdose and murder, respectively. Both songs are produced by Take A Daytrip, which has worked with 6LACK and Sheck Wes.

In the song "Legend," the Chicago rapper even "predicted" his death, with what he called the "21 Club." “There's nothing like the feeling of uncertainty, the strangeness of silence / This time it was so unexpected / Last time it was the drugs he was using / All the legends fall into formation / Really sorry, dying young demon youth
Soon after, he rejects the label of "legend" for himself, fearing that it will lead to a premature disappearance:
What is the 27 Club?
We're not getting past 21
I've been going through paranoia
So I always keep a gun
Damn, this is the world we live in now
Wait, just listen to me
They say I'll be a legend
I don't want this title now
Cause all legends seem to end up dying
What the fuck?
Juice WRLD emerged in 2017 on a meteoric rise. His single "Lucid Dreams" entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, earning him a big deal with Universal Music, being one of the label's biggest bets to become a 'legend'.
